Phillies Pet Session || BG Bully Project
As part of our ongoing “BG Bully Family Project,” we will be posting a selection of photos from each session. We have also pledged to donated 50% of all sales that results from these sessions — prints, wall art, or usb’s of full session — to Pinups for Pitbulls to aid in public education for the protection of bully breed dogs.
We at BG Productions have a strong commitment to animal rescue work and a passion for photographing people, places, and things while telling their story. To reflect these passions, we are embarking on a personal project to help end the negative stereotypes of bully breed dogs. We thought there was no better way to further that mission than to show these beautiful dogs being loved on and loving the humans that saved them — especially with kids! The negative stereotypes some hold are challenged by these beautiful families with loyal bully pets. We also love to showcase “alternative” families that are sometimes discriminated against and often face stereotypes. We LOVE photographing beautiful ink! Couple that with our love of dogs and you’ve got a winner… Follow along on our journey as we try to dispel a lot of myths. As a Philadelphia pet photographer, I wanted to capture some of the Bully Love that is all around. Enjoy this FDR Skate Park Pit Bull Session.
What a beautiful day to capture Samantha and Jeremy and their three adorable rescues. We wanted to include Drake even though he isn’t a bully but he still a rescue and part of the family. It just wouldn’t seem right to leave him out! I loved shooting at the Phillies stadium, especially that great blue sky. This family is comprised of huge Phillies fans and it was cool to go to place that’s important to them. Samantha works with the great rescue Response-A-Bull Rescue and makes awesome dog scarves and bow ties. The nice folks at the store where they sell merchandise and tickets for the Phillies saw us outside and got one for Meatball because he didn’t have one. He was very proud to rep for the Phillies! If you follow the BG Bully Project, you know how I love low riders. I got my fill of snuggles from Princess Aurora. I could have just brought her home with me and loved on her all day. I’m sure Bella would have loved that too!
Here is what Samantha had to say about her awesome crew….
Meatball is a 6 ½ year old bulldog/boxer mix who is now the old man of our pack. He’s been in my life since he was 8 weeks old and is a total momma’s boy. He spending most of his days the way any bulldog does, sleeping the day away!
Aurora is a 1-2 year old pit-bull rescue who stole my heart when she was rescued and brought to the shelter that I am a part of (Response-A-Bull Rescue in Wilmington, DE). I wasn’t looking for another dog, nor did I need one, but her sweet disposition won me over. After hearing of her horrific past — which left her blind and deaf on her left side — I couldn’t imagine her in any other home but mine. I named her Aurora because she is now treated like the princess that she is. Her horrible past has had no effect on her [disposition]; she is the most loving dog you will ever meet.
Drake is our 8-month old German Shepherd puppy! He is full of energy and loves to explore. Drake was found as a stray on the streets of Baltimore, then picked up by Response-A-Bull Rescue where Jeremy and I fell in love with him. Drake and Aurora are the best of friends and play the day away, every day.
