Our clients are either asking us for new wedding ideas, or showing us their cool new ideas! We truly have some of the most imaginative and creative clients and LOVE capturing all of the details. So naturally when we see new ideas, we want to share them! Here are some cool new ideas we have found that we are dying to see used:
A sketch artist:
Recently while in a coffee shop, Cathie was ‘illustrated’ by a local artist. When she approached Cathie to show her, wow! So cool!!
The artist is Diane Roka, and she mentioned that she does these sketches for weddings, showers, etc. Check out some of her sketches from a recent Nicole Miller show:
These would make for a fun addition to your cocktail hour and/or reception; have a designated area for your guests to sit for a quick sketch, or give her a place to sit in the reception area and she can sketch tables. She can also work off of photos if you want to make a photo a piece of original sketched art. Learn more about her at www.dianeroka.com/
Puzzle Guest Sign In:
This is one of the most fun places to get creative, and we LOVE this idea!!! Create a puzzle out of one of your favorite photos of the two of you (ask us for a recommendation for a printer) and leave the pieces out for your guest to sign the back.
Skip the place card, how about place buttons?
I SO love this idea and can’t believe I never thought of it before! Instead of the regular place card, create buttons with your guests name and table number. They will look totally fun in pictures, not to mentioni this is a great way to have all of your guests approach and get to know one another!
Looking for a gift for your mother/bridesmaid/soon to be mother-in-law? Check out this new locket from Origami Owl; (I got one for my 40th birthday and absolutely love it), they have a special wedding collection that will fit all of your gift needs:
You can find specific charms to fill each bridesmaids locket with, creating uniform yet personalized gifts. And you can add to them year after year! And take a peek at the bridal collection
If you don’t like the typical ceremony seating, this serpentine seating arrangement is fantastic. It maximizes your aisle space, gives you the opportunity to walk by all of your guests, and nobody gets a bad seat. If you are having a bridal party, have them seated in the closest inner circle to where you will be standing, followed by family:
You know we love our photobooth, and we would LOVE to see somebody add this to theirs! Your guests will have a ball posing for photos for your scrapbook:
Have a wedding at home? Don’t want the standard ceremony set up or guest tables? How about this:
I love this idea for a casual rehearsal dinner, or perhaps the day after brunch.
What do you think? Will you add any of these elements to your day? Or have any other ideas? Please share them!! We love the creativity of our couples and readers.
