Pit Bull Photography
BG Bully Family Project
As part of our ongoing personal work BG Bully Family Project we will be posting a selection of photos from each session.
We will also be donating 50% of Any sales that results from prints, wall art, or usb’s of full session to Pinups for Pitbulls to aid in the education of how Awesome these dogs are!! About the project….
We have a passion for rescue work and a passion for photographing people, places, and things and telling their story! So we are embarking on a personal project to help end the negative stereotypes of Bully Breed dogs!! We thought what better way then to show these beautiful dogs being loved on and loving the humans that saved them- especially those with children!! With the negative stereotypes people think these dogs aren’t good for homes with small kids! Well these families would disagree! We also wanted to showcase families that are also discriminated against and face stereotypes- people with tattoos! I LOVE photographing beautiful INK!!! and i LOVE LOVE dogs!! so follow along on our journey as we try to dispel a lot of myths!! As a Philadelphia pet photographer I wanted to capture some of the Bully Love that is all around!
Talk about a Gentle giant! chad is one of the sweetest, most chill dogs we have photographed yet. We are so thrilled we got to meet this special therapy dog. We went to CHOPfor his photos since he does so much great work there. Of course we weren’t allowed to photograph inside due to all the privacy issues but we were thrilled to meet up with him outside of the Seashore House where he visits with children and brings them a little sunshine. I can only imagine how much they love him. He was just so good and totally cooperative even though it was really hot and he really just wanted to eat the hot dogs him mom Chrissy brought him and give lots of kisses to his human nephew and niece Allie and Evan (and how Cute are they!!!) We are so thrilled we got a chance to meet and photograph him. And we know he is going to continue bringing love to everyone he meets!
Here is what Chrissy had to say……….Meet Chad
It was a week before Thanksgiving in 2012, when my daughter called me from Delaware County SPCA telling me about this beautiful brindle puppy they had. His story was that he and his siblings were being sold on the corner for drugs. He was given the name Brewsky, but when we brought him into our family he became Chad. Little did we know that he was going to be the best rescue dog ever !!! I was told from the day we picked him up by many that he had a “gift” but I had no clue what that “gift” truly meant. Chad has accomplished many amazing things in the short time he has been a part of our family. After achieving his canine good citizen certificate he became a certified therapy dog. Most recently he was nominated for the 2015 AKC award for canine excellence in recognition of his services as a therapy dog. We regularly visit schools, colleges, nursing homes, bullying meetings and do events teaching kids about pit bulls and therapy dogs. But our greatest accomplishment happened in November, 2014 when Chad was the first pit bull accepted into the pet therapy program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia !!!! It is a difficult program to get into due to the extensive background checks, behavioral and vet visits for him as well as medical visits for myself. We will continue to advocate, educate, and bring joy and love to the children we meet. I can only hope as Chad’s mom that you will have the opportunity to meet my gentle giant at an upcoming event.
