Philadelphia Pet Photographer ||Rescue Dogs|| Meet Braxton at Lilly Pulitzer ||  BG Bully Family Session

As part of our ongoing personal work BG Bully Family Project we will be posting a selection of photos from each session.
We will also be donating 50% of Any sales that results from prints, wall art, or usb’s of full session to Pinups for Pitbulls to aid in the education of how Awesome these dogs are!! About the project….
We have a passion for rescue work and a passion for photographing people, places, and things and telling their story! So we are embarking on a personal project to help end the negative stereotypes of Bully Breed dogs!! We thought what better way then to show these beautiful dogs being loved on and loving the humans that saved them- especially those with children!! With the negative stereotypes people think these dogs aren’t good for homes with small kids! Well these families would disagree! We also wanted to showcase families that are also discriminated against and face stereotypes- people with tattoos! I LOVE photographing beautiful INK!!! and i LOVE LOVE dogs!! so follow along on our journey as we try to dispel a lot of myths!! As a Philadelphia pet photographer I wanted to capture some of the Bully Love that is all around!
We are SOOO thrilled that our good friend Jennifer and her husband Walter wanted to be a part of the BG Bully Family Sessions! We just Love Jennifer and have met Braxton before when we actually photographed them with all three of their dogs. and Jennifer totally LOVEs Lilly Pulitzer so it was only fitting that we do our photo shoot there! It was so great of them to let us do the photos there and i am in LOVE with how they turned out!

Here is what Jennifer had to say…

In 2012 I decided I wanted a third rescue dog. I sent my husband Walter all kinds of photos of local dogs at shelters and he kept saying we were not going to get a third dog because the dogs would not outnumber the people in the house and we already had 2 rescue dogs at home. I found Braxton online through his ACCT pen pals (Animal Care & Control Philly) in February 2012 around Valentine’s Day. There was something about his soulful eyes that spoke to me. And by some miracle, Walter agreed to meet him. He was underweight and wouldn’t look us in the eye. It seemed like life had defeated him.

We learned he had been an “owner surrender” by force. He had been kept outside in all weather chained to a fence and after some complaints the owner was told he could surrender Braxton or charges would be filed.
We decided to adopt him. Honestly the timing could not be worse with us leaving for an extended trip to Asia within days. We had also both lost our mothers during the same week in 2011 and were still struggling to move on from all of that. Our amazing dog sitter and trainer had Braxton live with him and his dogs during our trip and helped him greatly. Braxton did not understand doorways or steps for awhile. And when we let all the dogs out in our backyard he wouldn’t come back inside because that’s where he thought he belonged. It was terribly sad. Fast forward several years later and Braxton is happy and affectionate. We couldn’t imagine life without him. He could also lose a few pounds now (couldn’t we all?)!
I had never adopted a pit bull before and even though I have been involved in the rescue community for many years, I used to be one of those people that did not understand why one would adopt a pit. Now I see they are the most loyal and special of all the dogs we have had and would definitely adopt another one.
Enjoy our shoot….

And Please leave a comment saying your favorite photo and WHY and if they get at least 10 comments they will get the most popular one as a FREE 8×10 gift print! So show them some love and help them out!!
